In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the Broome County Fair is proud to launch a new tradition—honoring an exceptional veteran or active-duty service member as our “Broome County Fair Military Person of the Year”.  This tradition celebrates the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of those who have served our nation with honor. It also acknowledges individuals who continue to make a meaningful impact within their communities.

We invite you to nominate a deserving individual whose service—both in uniform and beyond—exemplifies these values.

Eligibility Criteria

• Nominees may be currently serving or previously served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces.

• Nominees should demonstrate honorable service, strong character, and community involvement.

• Preference may be given to individuals with a connection to Broome County or the surrounding region.

 

Recognition Details

The selected honoree will be recognized during a special ceremony at the Broome County Fair.

Note: While attendance is encouraged, accommodations can be made if the selected individual is unavailable. The Broome County Fair will initially contact the nominator, and arrangements will then be coordinated with the nominee.
