For over 35 years, the Broome County Fair has welcomed thousands of children and adults who partake in our “Special Kids Day” event! Guests who participate in this event are members of our local community with identified exceptionalities and differing abilities. These guests are children and adults from Broome, Tioga, Cortland, Tompkins, and Chenango Counties who come from local camps, institutions, schools, and group homes.

The response for this program has been enthusiastic as the event grows larger an larger each year. Last year, over 4000 individuals were able to enjoy a free day at the Fair and establish memories that will last a lifetime.

Participates of “Special Kids Day” receive free admission, amusement rides, a treat of cotton candy or a snow cone, and even a prize to take home as a reminder of their day at the Fair. In addition to enjoying all the rides and exhibits, our guest get to experience the sights and sounds of agriculture and livestock, such as horses, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, and rabbits.

For many, this is the most anticipated event of the summer and is our favorite day during the Broome County Fair! “Special Kids Day” is a charitable event supported by generous individuals and local businesses. Without their help, this event would not be possible!
